Call to Action (CTA)

The line that tells a reader the specific next step to take.

What it means

A call to action, or CTA, is the explicit prompt for the reader's next step: follow for more, subscribe, drop a comment, book a call. It removes ambiguity about what to do after the content lands.

Strong CTAs ask for one thing, not five. A post that ends with a single clear ask outperforms one that offers a menu of options the reader won't sort through.

Why it matters

Attention you earn and don't direct usually evaporates. The CTA is where interest becomes action, and its absence is a common reason content that gets read still doesn't grow anything.
