Carousel (Social)

A swipeable multi-slide post used on Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok to teach one idea across several frames.

What it means

A carousel is a post made of several slides the reader swipes through in order. Each slide advances one small step of a single idea - a hook slide, a few teaching slides, and a close that asks for the follow or the save.

Carousels reward structure. The first slide has to earn the swipe, and every slide after it has to earn the next one. A carousel that front-loads everything gets read once; one that paces itself gets read to the end.

Why it works

Swiping is active. A reader who swipes has spent time and attention, and platforms read that dwell time as a quality signal. Carousels also get saved and re-shared more than single images because they teach something worth keeping.
