Podcast Guest Pitch Template (Free)
A pitch that lands podcast guest spots, built around what the host needs.
Why most podcast pitches get ignored
Most pitches are about the sender: credentials, achievements, why they would be a great guest. The host's question is different: what will my audience get from this that they could not get from anyone else? Pitches that lead with that answer get read.
The template
Subject: specific topic you can cover for their audience - one sentence. Opening: name one thing you heard on the show that prompted the pitch. The offer: three episode angles or questions you can speak to, each written from the audience's benefit. Credentials: two sentences, specific to what makes you credible on these topics specifically. Close: a link to a previous interview if one exists, and a simple ask.
Follow up once
Send one follow-up seven to ten days later. After that, move on. A second follow-up on a cold pitch usually decreases the chances. The goal is a yes from the right podcasts, not a yes from every podcast.
