Ghostwriting

A writer producing content published under someone else's name and voice.

What it means

Ghostwriting is content written by one person but published as another's, in that person's voice. It's how many busy founders, executives and creators keep a presence they don't have time to write themselves.

The hard part is voice: a good ghostwriter spends weeks learning how the client actually sounds, and the work only succeeds if readers can't tell someone else wrote it.

Why it matters

Ghostwriting solves the time problem but adds cost, onboarding, and a review loop - and it's capped by the writer's hours. It's one of the main alternatives creators weigh against grounding their own voice in a tool that drafts for them.
