How to Turn a Real Conversation Into Your Best Content
Your best posts are hiding in your conversations. Here's how to find them.
Conversations surface real questions
The questions someone asks you in a DM, on a call, or over coffee are not random. They're the questions your audience is actually sitting with - articulated in plain language by a real person, not filtered through your assumptions about what they want to know. Those questions are content briefs.
When you find yourself explaining something from scratch, you've found a post. The fact that someone needed to ask it means it's not obvious, and not obvious is exactly the threshold for useful content.
Capture the framing, not just the answer
The valuable part of a conversation isn't always the answer you gave - sometimes it's the way the person framed the problem, or the specific words they used. Capture both. A post that opens with the exact question in the reader's own language will stop someone mid-scroll in a way that a generically framed take never will.
Speed matters - capture immediately
Conversations happen and are forgotten inside of hours. Build a habit of opening your notes app immediately after a call or a meaningful DM exchange and dropping in the question, your answer, and any memorable phrasing. A short note in the moment becomes a strong post later. Without it, a dozen posts a year stay in your head instead of on the feed.
