What Post Fatigue Actually Is (and How to Fix It)
August 15, 2026 · 4 min read
Post fatigue is usually a drift problem, not a volume problem.
It's rarely about the volume
Creators often diagnose post fatigue as a volume problem: I'm posting too much, I need to take a break. Sometimes that's true. More often, the fatigue comes from posting content that doesn't feel like theirs - topics they chose because they perform, formats they use because they're expected, takes they wrote because someone said it would land well.
Content that is genuinely your perspective, on topics you actually find interesting, is far more sustainable than optimized content that serves the algorithm but drains you.
Reconnect with what you'd say anyway
The reset for post fatigue is a session of writing content you'd write whether or not anyone would see it - the thing you actually think, about a problem you actually care about, in the words you'd naturally reach for. Publish it or don't; the point is to reconnect with why you started posting in the first place.
Very often that session produces the best thing you've written in months, and the fatigue starts to lift. The problem wasn't volume - it was disconnection from your real voice.
